Ericsson/Hewlett-Packard and Framfab in partnership EHPT, the joint venture between Ericsson and Hewlett-Packard, and Framfab, today announced a new partnership in the development of wireless applications, which will be effective immediately. The new partnership will leverage jalda's Internet payment platform and Framfab's wireless technology expertise to develop market-leading wireless applications. This partnership has resulted in the creation of a new series of wireless payment applications. Framfab, the third largest Internet professional services firm in the world, and EHPT will work together to build applications and increase market share for jalda@, an Internet payment standard. "As wireless technologies move forward in the US, Framfab is in a prime position to become a leader in wireless applications development and specifically m-commerce." jalda allows a customer to pay for products and services over the fixed or mobile Internet using only a password or pin code. Applications developed in the new partnership using the jalda standard include a soda machine and a digital jukebox, both configured to accept payment via the Ericsson R380 Smartphone. EHPT and Framfab forsee developing other applications including parking solutions, lotteries, pay-per-view movies, and other vending solutions.
