Framfab and the "A" lotteries enter strategic partnership Stockholm, December 7, 1999 Initially, Framfab will develop an Internet version of the existing Kombilotteriet game which will be launched at the end of January. "Digital media are a new channel that will bring big changes to the gaming industry. Swedes are already spending SEK 100 million at foreign gaming sites. By 2001, the European gaming market is expected to reach sales of SEK 22 billion. To become a leading player in this exponential development, we have chosen to enter into a strategic partnership with Framfab", explains Anders Jansson, Managing Director of the "A" lotteries. The impact of the Internet has in recent years brought profound change to the gaming market. This development is expected to continue in the coming years. Rapid broadband transmission and increased mobility is opening up opportunities featuring new types of games and greater accessibility. "Right now we are looking at Internet-based games, which is an entirely new market that requires both industry and channel competence and where the "A" lotteries and Framfab will be a powerful constellation. A little further down the road, our objective is to develop tomorrow's gaming on the Internet through a jointly owned company", says Anders Hellberg, Key Account Manager at Framfab. The "A" lotteries have been an established player in the gaming market for many years. The company is owned by the Social Democratic Party (SAP) and Sweden's Young Social Democrats (SSU). This is the company that, together with Svenska Spel and ATG, was granted a trial permit to conduct gaming on the Internet. In 1998 the "A" lotteries posted sales of SEK 300 million.
