Mint launches unique payment service for mobile telephones Ledstiernan's portfolio company Mint will introduce a new service for mobile telephone users at a press conference on January 15, 2001. The new service will enable users to pay for merchandise purchased in stores affiliated to Mint via a standard mobile telephone. The payment service will be in use in Stockholm stores as of the launch date, January 15, 2001. The investment in Mint is in line with Ledstiernan's investment strategy: start-ups with a focus on mobile communication. With its equity interest of 27.5 per cent (49 per cent after dilution and full exercise of all options), Ledstiernan is Mint's main source of finance. The press conference on January 15 will include a demonstration and run- through of the service, as well as a more detailed presentation of the company. Mint's three founders, along with the company's chairman, Jacob Palmstierna, and Ledstiernan's President, Johan Wachtmeister, will all be present at this press meeting.
