NASHVILLE, Tenn. May 11, 2011 – The Frist Foundation recently awarded a $50,000 grant to the Legal Aid Society to help better serve their clients by increasing technical capability and effectiveness within the organization’s casework.

“This grant will help Legal Aid Society lawyers serve their clients with greater efficiency,” said Gary Housepian, executive director. “We are enormously grateful to the Frist Foundation for its generosity.”

The grant will be used to support upgrades to Legal Aid Society’s case management system.

Saranne Winfield, grant manager, explained, “A new database system will be a great advantage for our frontline staff members who need a more expedient and user-friendly way of helping low-income, elderly and vulnerable clients.”

When asked about the grant, Pete Bird, executive director of the Frist Foundation, said, “This is the right project at the right time for the Legal Aid Society.”
