On February 20, 2020, Lehto started co-operation negotiations as part of the company's restructuring measures. The purpose of the negotiations was to plan the merge of the functions of the Social Care and Educational Premises service area into other service areas and to plan the measures to boost efficiency in business of the Housing service area. Negotiations concerned approximately 400 employees and Lehto estimated that the negotiation may have impact of maximum 110 man-years.

As a result of the completed co-operation negotiations, Lehto will merge the Social Care and Educational Premises service area into two other service areas. Care building will continue from now on in the Housing service area and school construction in the Business Premises service area.

The result of the negotiations will have an impact of 102 man-years in the Social Care and Educational Premises service area and Housing service areas. The effects include redundancies (73 persons), transfers of staff to another company or service area, and minor lay-offs.

Lehto starts co-operation negotiations on possible layoffs

Lehto will start co-operation negotiations on possible layoffs concerning the entire personnel. With this measure, the company is preparing for changes in work load situation, among other things. The background is the coronavirus pandemic, which is seen to have a direct, indirect and possibly long-lasting impact on the business environment. The company estimates that the changes caused by the pandemic could be related to potential delays in project start-ups and disruptions in the availability of materials and subcontracting resources.

The negotiations concern all of the company's approximately 1,200 employees and mainly address potential layoffs, as well as practices related to annual leave and holiday pay.
