Lehto signs preliminary agreement with Fennovoima for major office building complex
Lehto Group has signed a preliminary agreement with Fennovoima Oy for the construction of an administrative building and plant office in Pyhäjoki. The combined area of the buildings is about 17,900 m2. The administrative building and plant office will be used by Fennovoima employees both while the power plant is under construction and when it is in use.
The project will be implemented as a turnkey contract that includes construction work, technical building systems, and completing implementation planning. The design phase is expected to last from December 2018 to spring 2019, after which construction work can commence. The contract is valued at about EUR 30 million.
“This is a great continuation project for us, as we’ve already built apartments in Pyhäjoki for over 1,000 employees. These apartments can be transferred to others once the power plant is finished,” says Jaakko Heikkilä, EVP of Lehto Group, Business Premises.
“We received many good tenders for both construction work and the technical building systems. Lehto Group’s development proposals and the overall offer were decisive factors in the company’s favour. We already have detailed plans for the buildings, and Lehto Group will now hone and implement them,” says Fennovoima Project Director Juha Nurmi.
