New French Village and CanCan Casino Resort and Spa Located in Downtown D’Iberville, Miss.

(LAS VEGAS – December 17, 2010) The Las Vegas office of international architecture, planning, engineering and interior design firm LEO A DALY is designing the new CanCan Casino Resort and Spa and the surrounding French Village, located on a 16-acre waterfront site in downtown D’Iberville, Miss. The project is expected to break ground in the beginning of the second quarter of 2011.

The French Village, an open-air retail and non-gaming hotel development, will feature a 300-key hotel, a wedding chapel and approximately 30 stores, bars and restaurants. Offering a unique combination in the Gulf Coast region, the casino resort is connected to the village, and will contain a 60,000 square-foot casino with 1,800 slots, 40 gaming tables, four restaurants, a first-class French spa and 250 rooms and suites.

The design of the village is inspired by the architecture found in the French countryside and will feature colored buildings, awnings, outdoor cafes, shuttered windows, balconies and pitched roofs. The casino resort, inspired by the Belle Époque period, will feature a grand palace-like appearance with large domes, arcades, balustrades and lofty vaults.

“The development is heavily themed so that instead of reflecting modern life, it reflects what many of us think of a simpler, more enjoyable time,” says Francis Xavier Dumont, AIA, LEO A DALY Las Vegas Vice President and Director of Design. “The design brings whimsy back into the architectural environment.”

Three prime amenities surround the waterfront area, namely a 114-seat gourmet restaurant with a private club for casino players and a 140-seat show lounge, a state-of-the-art 16-table poker room, and a 110-seat coffee shop. The casino resort also features a night club, a 1,000-seat events venue and a variety of conference and banquet spaces that can accommodate up to 400 people.
