Leslie J. Yerman Showcases Fine Art Photographs at Rizza Salon in NYC’s Historic West Village
New York, NY, May 19, 2011 —Photographer Leslie J. Yerman is showcasing her fine art photographs at Rizza Salon located in New York City’s historic West Village at 49 Greenwich Avenue. Photos were chosen to complement the salon’s elegantly relaxed space and illustrate a connection with nature and the spirit.
Art and photographic printer Anaconda Press produced the digital prints using their special SilverTone™ process, creating the look of classic black and white prints made in the darkroom. Anaconda, which is located in the Forestville, MD, will be reproducing limited quantity, museum quality sale prints of Yerman’s photos.
Yerman has been taking photos most of her adult life. Based in New York City, her work reflects her love of the city, nature, places, people, and family — young and old. She works primarily in black and white and sepia. Her photography portfolio can be viewed on her website, leslie j. yerman photography. She also has a Facebook Leslie J. Yerman Photography page.
Her photo “Little Brazil” was chosen as a semi-finalist in the New York Historical Society’s Times Square Photo Contest, judged by a distinguished panel including society photographer Mary Hillard, muralist Richard Haas and Times Square photographer and collector Barney Ingoglia.
Yerman also has a photo in the group show “If I Didn’t Have to Be Me…” at the offices of the Manhattan Times at 5030 Broadway, Suite 801 in Upper Manhattan. The show will be open through June during the Ninth Annual Uptown Arts Stroll, Northern Manhattan’s month-long arts festival.
Recent photography projects have included photo shoots for Artisan Bread School at Eataly New York (on the ABS Facebook page), Blue Lotus Acupuncture Center and the nonprofits, Bent on Learning and Pando Projects.
Yerman took photos of a first grade yoga class for Bent on Learning, which brings yoga into the New York City public schools. Photos are on the organization’s Facebook page and will be used in their marketing brochure. She captured one of Pando’s pilot projects — Growing Gardens, Growing Kids — a program helping South Bronx pre-school students learn about fresh food by starting a community garden. The photos are featured on the project’s website.
A communications professional with more than 20 years experience, Yerman’s passion for making photos is matched by her love of children — her favorite subjects. She specializes in candid shots that capture the joy and spontaneity of childhood.
Rizza Salon, brand designed by Alison Goudreault, is open Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 am – 8:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, and Sunday from noon to 6:00 pm.
