There is no better way to celebrate the end of 2011 and the start of winter than with a family-friendly visit to Liberty Science Center where we’re celebrating the 12 Days of Science December 21 – January 1 (closed 12/25). With the kids on vacation and out of town guests to entertain, you’ll all revel in our own special brand of wintry science fun!
Daily:
All activities are free with paid admission or membership (except where noted) and include Math Midway where guests ages 6+ will enjoy exploring surprising aspects of math in a carnival-themed exhibition from the Museum of Mathematics. They can even ride a square-wheeled tricycle! (Psst! Great photo opp!)
Also offered daily are a new Live Science Presentation, “Blast Off!” demonstrating principles of rocketry; Pocket Science, where wandering science experts offer mini science experiments hidden in their lab coat pockets; and Insta-Snow® where guests learn about chains of molecules called polymers then use one with unique properties to make “snow” in a great indoor activity. Guests ages 4-8 will enjoy Science Arts and Crafts and the Green Frog Survival Game where they hop across lily pads to learn about life as a frog. Films in the nation’s largest IMAX Dome Theater include Polar Express, Tornado Alley, Hubble, and Born to Be Wild, while films in the Joseph D. Williams Science Theater include Flying Monsters 3D (dinosaur-themed) and The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D.
