  • The first project is successfully completed according to plan
  • The results show a strong commercial potential for the company's technology
  • The cooperation with Wallenius Water will now continue into the next phase

During the first months of the year LightLab’s EEE Light® technology has been adapted to generate UV light in the so-called UVB and UVC ranges, which is necessary for UV purification of air, water and other liquids.

As previously announced, in press releases and in the annual report for year 2014, LightLab has during the first half of the year cooperated with Wallenius Water AB in a project for the development and performance evaluation of prototype lamps based on LightLab’s EEE Light® technology for the UV area. The project is now successfully completed according to plan.

During the project, tests on e-coli bacteria in water have been performed. These tests confirm the technology's effectiveness. Also, lifetime tests on both light powder and the cathode have been performed with commercially interesting results.

Already in this first project the measured performance is superior to the performance of UVC lamps based on LED technology, in terms of energy efficiency, lifetime and maximum output power.

In summary the mercury-free UVC lamps based on the EEE Light® technology exhibits performance and features that make them an attractive commercial alternative and also opens up new opportunities in the rapidly growing market for UV purification and disinfection.

As a next step LightLab will therefore, in a continued cooperation with Wallenius Water, develop a UVC lamp designed for a specific water treatment product.

"The results we obtained in this first UV purification and disinfection project are very satisfying and we look forward to continuing the successful cooperation with Wallenius Water towards a commercial product launch.”, says Johan Tingsborg, CEO LightLab Sweden AB
