LightLab Sweden and Arklite Speciality Lamps sign co-operation agreement
- The agreement covers technology licensing, sales and production
- The joint intention is for Arklite to commence sales and volume deliveries of EEE Light® based mercury free UV lamps during 2017
- An important milestone in the market establishment of LightLab Sweden’s EEE Light® technology for UV disinfection
In a press release from February 15, 2017, it was announced that LightLab Sweden and Arklite Speciality Lamps Ltd., Pune, India, had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), whereafter negotiations with the purpose of executing a co-operation agreement were initiated. These negotiations are now concluded and the parties have signed a commercial co-operation agreement around sales and production of UV lamps, primarily for disinfection of water, air and surfaces.
Arklite Speciality Lamps Ltd., established in Pune, India, in 1996, is a leading manufacturer and provider of speciality lamps based on quartz glass technology. The product portfolio includes, among other things, UV lamps for UV disinfection, UV lamps for curing and high wattage floodlighting. Arklite also provides systems for water disinfection.
According to the signed agreement, Arklite is granted a license to sell and manufacture UV tube lamps based on LightLab Sweden’s EEE Light® technology. Arklite will now initiate establishment of volume production capacity, for UV lamps based on LightLab Sweden’s EEE Light® technology and on Arklite’s own expertise in speciality lamps and quartz glass technology.
The agreement regulates, in addition to the technology license, also sales and the establishment of production capacity. It is the common goal of both companies that Arklite shall be able to commence sales and deliveries of EEE Light® based UV lamps from their production line already during the coming quarter and that volume production capacity shall be established before the end of the year.
