New Level of Clean for Domino's Distribution

A brand new distribution centre in Milton Keynes has benefited from Nilfisk cleaning equipment supplied via Nationwide Cleaning Machines (NCM) of Northampton. The new facility owned by Domino’s Pizza Group Ltd goes live on the 1st August and will deliver product to 427 stores, 6 days a week. Hygiene standards are critical at the Domino’s site. The facility is EFSIS accredited, an exacting standard developed by the English European Food Safety Inspection Service. EFSIS also externally audits all procedures and standards. Domino’s has worked with Nilfisk dealer NCM for a number of years. Their advice was sought on new equipment for the 103,000 square feet facility that employs close to 200 people. NCM specified the Nilfisk 36v BR1100 ride on battery operated scrubber dryer. The BR1100 boasts a 1000mm scrubbing width and has the ability to both scrub and dry in one pass. The unit has a 265 litre solution and recovery tank allowing for maximum productivity between fill ups. A rear vacuum hose attachment was specified that allows the operator to vacuum up litter without leaving their seat. NCM also recommended the SR1101B a small ride on sweeper for use within the ambient chilled and frozen sections. The unit has a sweep width of 700mm and is able to climb ramps up to 20% gradient. Simon Dar, Warehouse Manager for Domino’s stated; ‘We have always had a good service from NCM. They know our processes and requirements. They walked each area with us and arranged demonstrations. We did talk to other suppliers but chose NCM because of their long experience in the market and good service levels. We have 2 full time accredited instructors on site.
