A Stamford based Company has launched a Work Life Balance Recruitment Campaign offering a real alternative to the 9 to 5 "rat race".

Water Audit Services Ltd is looking to recruit 6 self-employed Account Managers operating from home on a near full time but flexible basis.

The term Work Life Balance was first used in the UK in the 1970’s. Possibly now over-used it effectively deals with an individual’s balance between work and their personal life.

Affordable technological advances mean that it is now possible to work from home yet be in constant touch with the office. This ‘home centred lifestyle’ allows work to be managed around the family and is ideal for both traditional families and single parents.

The UK historically has a strong tradition of non-state involvement in the family sphere. Largely the social policy is based on the parents deciding for themselves how to combine home and work.

A University study in June 2012 looked at Work Life policies within organisational structures and concluded some interesting facts.

The increase in female employees in the work place has resulted in a growing imbalance between work and family life. Negative feelings can develop towards Companies that do not support mothers. Employers have chosen to respond by either making exceptions or integrating fair family policies. Those that do so have seen reduced stress levels, reduced absenteeism and much improved levels of loyalty and commitment.

1303 UK companies participated in the University study revealing that public organisations offer far more work life policies than private companies. Additionally the greater the number of skilled women within these organisations the more likely it is that work life strategies will be pursued.

Water Audit Services would like to buck this trend and are intent on creating 6 new Account Manager Positions that offer a fantastic work life balance. Hours are completely flexible, with around 4 days per week expected, including client visits averaging 1 day every 1 to 2 weeks.

Applicants are likely to have had previous sales experience, and should be moderately computer literate with access to broadband.

Water Audit Service’s Managing Director, Bill Clarke comments on the new initiative; ‘Being a family man myself I understand very well the difficulties of balancing work and family. Our most successful Account Manager is a mum of three who has built up business producing a very good income. Full training and support will be provided to successful candidates. We are a privately owned Company that wants to engender long term, mutually beneficial relationships with our employees. For us this is very much a new staffing strategy that we hope will appeal to a wide audience. If you think this is something that could appeal to you, talk to us, we are an approachable bunch.’

To take the word of Steve Jobs – ‘your time is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life!’
