$1.00 from Every Pizza Sold to be Donated to Local Charities

MOD Pizza has loved feeding their communities for the last five years and to celebrate this milestone, MOD is on a mission to “spread more MODness” in a big way. For the six days beginning on Tuesday, November 26 through Sunday, December 1, 2013, MOD Pizza will donate $1.00 from every pizza sold, in every MOD location, to local food banks and shelters.

“When we opened the first MOD Pizza five years ago, one of our goals was to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Since MOD is in the business of feeding people, supporting food banks and shelters is an obvious choice, and what better time to give back than during the Thanksgiving holiday,” explains Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO. “Spreading MODness is about building bridges for our employees and the communities they serve. Choosing local beneficiaries that are personal to each of our 14 stores therefore made perfect sense to us. We are excited and privileged to be able to launch this campaign as we celebrate MOD’s fifth birthday and say ‘thanks’ to the communities that have so warmly embraced us.”

MOD brought the “build your own pizza” concept to market in 2008 with the opening of their first store in downtown Seattle. The company was founded by a small group of entrepreneurs led by Scott and Ally Svenson, who were inspired by their love of Italian street-style pizza, coupled with their desire for authentic and affordable fast casual dining options for their busy family. MOD is “simple food for complex times”.

MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are Made-On-Demand (MOD), using organic fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Pizzas are the same price regardless of the number of toppings and are hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in less than 3 minutes. MOD also offers local draft beers, wine, sweet and savory knots, milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
