Limt in USA signs contract with a value of SEK 30 million Limt Inc, a subsidiary of the Swedish TV-media company Limt AB today announced that it has signed an agreement with Q-Cast, Inc. of Los Angeles, for Q-Cast use of the Limt digital cable ad insertion products. The contract calls for installation of up to 100 Limt DMM systems beginning in the third quarter of 1999 and throughout the year 2000. The 100 systems will utilise an average of 6 DMMs each. The DMM is a digital video server, developed in Sweden by Limt. The initial Q-Cast agreement is valued at approximately 30 million SEK, although Q-Cast is optimistic that the rollout can even be accelerated to up to 200 systems, which would represent a potential placement of over 50 million SEK of the Limt digital video servers. Limt began working with Q-Cast earlier this year, installing 8 Limt DMM systems and one Central Site for distribution of local TV-commercials. With the success of that limited test and the response of the marketplace to the Limt technology, Q-Cast is now expanding their sales operation nation wide. Q-Cast, in the business of sale of TV-commercials for local cable operators throughout the USA, is currently in final negotiations with several cable operators, to provide turnkey sales and commercial insertion operations. Limt Inc. will be responsible for the delivery, installation and support of the equipment and will receive an equity position in Q-Cast. The partnership will create a close working relationship between the two companies, where Limt will ensure that the latest technology is always available to Q-Cast and Q- Cast will sell local TV-commercials using Limt´s system solutions exclusively.
