Contest Asks “Live Here…Work Here…Love Here?”

MCLEAN, Va. - February 2, 2012--Hilton McLean Tysons Corner has brought together the best in the business from around the region for a giveaway that proves Virginia truly is for lovers. The hotel's Dream Wedding Giveaway, worth up to $27,710 asks the question "You may live here, and you may work here, but do you love here?" One lucky couple that best demonstrates their love for not only each other, but also Northern Virginia will be rewarded with the Dream Wedding Giveaway complete with a four-night five-day honeymoon to Hilton Barbados. The contest is open to all engaged or soon to be engaged couples who submit an essay online explaining how they found love living or working in Northern Virginia.

"We are looking for couples with a deep appreciation or attachment to Northern Virginia or specifically the Tyson's Corner area and why it would be meaningful for them to have their wedding take place in this area," said Brian Kelleher, general manager, Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. "We want to celebrate the reasons why so many of us call Northern Virginia home--because we love it, and there is no better way to show it than to marry the one you love here."

Entrants must submit their story on or before March 23, 2012 to www.facebook.com/hiltonmclean.

Ten couples will be selected as finalists and asked to present their story to a panel of judges in the hotel’s newly designed grand ballroom on Thursday, April 5.

The winning couple will receive:

  • A $15,000 credit towards use of the stunning newly renovated Hilton McLean Tysons Corner ballrooms and award winning catering facilities (date based on availability)
  • Complimentary Bridal Suite for two nights for the Bride and Groom ($1,000 value)
  • Three course rehearsal dinner for up to 15 at Northern Virginia’s hottest new restaurant, Härth (up to a $1000 value)
  • Invitation design and printing from Herron Printing & Graphics (up to a $1,000 value)
  • Custom wedding cake designed by Fluffy Thoughts Cakes (up to a $750 value)
  • Customized package of wedding photography by renowned local photographer Len Depas (up to a $2000 value)
  • Your choice of music provided by Bialek’s Music (up to a $750 value)
  • Officiant services for the ceremony and rehearsal from Say I Do Your Way (up to a $700 value)
  • Dance lessons from Arthur Murray Dance Studios ($760 value)
  • Floral arrangements for use by the couple in bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, and/or centerpieces by Karin’s Florist (up to a $1500 value)
  • Linens for up to 150 guests by Select Event Rentals (up to a $500 value)
  • First anniversary two night weekend stay at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner and dinner for two at Härth (up to a $500 value)
  • Five-day, four-night honeymoon stay with breakfast at Hilton Barbados ($1,250 value)
  • Air Transportation to Barbados for two (up to a $1,000 value)

The remaining nine couples will receive a one night Friday or Saturday stay at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner subject to availability, dinner for two at Härth ($250 value), and a 10 percent discount for a 2012 or 2013 wedding reception held at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

If prizes are not redeemed to their full value, remaining values cannot be issued back to the winner or put towards another prize. Wedding giveaway must be redeemed by November 30, 2012. All contestants will be responsible for tax and gratuity on prizes received.
