Stockmann’s subsidiary Lindex invests in a new omnichannel warehouse for continued growth

Lindex is investing for future growth and will build a new, highly automated omnichannel warehouse in Alingsås in Sweden. The new omnichannel warehouse will manage the supply of goods to all the fashion company's stores, the strongly growing e-commerce as well as the company's third-party collaborations with global fashion platforms. With the new facility Lindex will initially be able to quadruple the e-commerce capacity and ensure a scalable and sustainable logistics solution for all sales channels. The initial capacity for the e-commerce will be approximately 13 000 picked and packed garments per production hour.

 

The new omnichannel warehouse is the largest investment in Lindex’s history and a crucial step in fulfilling the company’s long-term growth plans and in securing the future of the logistic operations. the future of our logistics operations and strengthening the competitive advantage. The amount of capital expenditure is approximately EUR 110 million including land, building and automation. The highly automated and climate smart facility will be approximately 40 000 square meters in size and is planned to be brought into operation in 2024. The new omnichannel warehouse will replace the current warehouse in Partille and the e-commerce warehouse in Borås.

 

In line with Lindex sustainability ambitions, the warehouse has high environmental requirements with the goal of achieving the environmental certification BREEAM-SE Excellent. The facility will be powered by electricity from solar panels, which will enable delivery of electricity to both Lindex own operations and to others.
