For the fourth year running, Lindex is supporting the Pink Ribbon, the Swedish Cancer Foundation’s campaign in aid of breast cancer research. Lindex is one of the campaign’s main sponsors, and will donate SEK 1 per sold bra to the Pink Ribbon campaign throughout the month of October. On Saturday 28 October, Pink Saturday, Lindex will donate SEK 10 per sold bra. The Pink Ribbon will be on sale in all Lindex stores.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women, and affects one in ten women. 15-20 Swedish women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day, and just over 1,500 women die of breast cancer in Sweden per year. These figures are alarmingly high. “Most of Lindex’s customers and employees are women, and we feel highly involved and motivated to support breast cancer research. We want to help save an increasing number of lives by donating money to cancer research,” says Ulrika Danielson, Lindex’s Communications Manager. The aim of the Pink Ribbon campaign is to increase awareness regarding breast cancer and raise funds to support breast cancer research. Besides donating money to the campaign for each bra sold, all Lindex stores will sell the Pink Ribbon. The proceeds will go to breast cancer research. In addition, part of the money will be donated to the Swedish Breast Cancer Association (BRO), which supports cancer victims and their relatives. Starting this year, the familiar Pink Ribbon will be given a new design every year with the help of well-known Swedish designers. This year’s Pink Ribbon was designed by clothes designer Carin Rodebjer, who drew inspiration from shawls, rag rugs and traditional embroidery from the 1930s. Together, these elements create an attractive, modern symbol of life and female strength.
