Lindex moves its head office to Göteborg Wishing to get closer to its customers and to the influences of fashion, while aiming to be a more attractive employer, Lindex has decided to move its head office to Göteborg. In the first quarter of the 2003/2004 financial year, the Lindex head office will be moving to newly built facilities in central Göteborg. Some service divisions will remain in Alingsås, while purchasing, sales and marketing make the move to Göteborg. "The move to Göteborg is a major step in our efforts to become an even better fashion company," says Jörgen Johansson, President and CEO of Lindex. "It is also part of our overall ambition, to focus more on the customer. Our head-office staff will get even closer to our customers' everyday situation; they'll see the customer on the street, in restaurants and in our stores. In addition, we expect the move to make it easier to recruit and retain skilled employees." Lindex will rent offices in the Centralhuset property, which NCC is building in the very heart of Göteborg, right next to the central station and the Nordstan shopping centre. "We have found an office with a unique position in many ways, particularly considering access to travel and transport," Johansson says. Lindex and NCC have also agreed that NCC will acquire Lindex's property in Alingsås in 2003. Lindex will then rent the office space it needs for its remaining activities there.
