Lindex Preliminary Report 1998/99
PRELIMINARY REPORT 1998/99 1 September 1998 - 31 August 1999 * Profit for the financial year increased by 20 per cent * Sales in the fourth quarter of the financial year rose by 14 per cent to SEK 930M (816). * During the same period, operating profit amounted to SEK 60M (53) and profit after financial items improved by 16 per cent to SEK 65M (56). * In the 1998/99 financial year, Lindex's sales rose by 12.6 per cent to SEK 3,615M. * (3 212). Lindex continued to take market shares on all geographic markets and same store salesimproved by 6.2 per cent (5.8). * Operating profit for the financial year amounted to SEK 255M (221). Profit after financial items increased by 20 per cent to SEK 266M (221). * In total, 24 (23) new stores were opened, of which 7 (4) in Germany. * The sales trend on the market during the beginning of autumn 1999 was weak due to unusually warm seasonal weather when sales of autumn clothing are normally strong. * The Board of Directors propose a dividend of SEK 4.00 per share (3.50). Annual General Meeting The Annual General Meeting will take place in Alströmergymnasiets aula, Teatergatan, Alingsås on Wednesday 19 January 2000 at 4 pm.
