PRELIMINARY ACCOUNTS REPORT 1997/98 1 September 1997 - 31 August 1998 * Profit for the financial year increased by 25 per cent * Sales in the fourth quarter of the financial year increased by 23 per cent to SEK 816M (666). * During the same period, operating profit rose to SEK 53M (12) and profit after financial items improved by 367 per cent to SEK 56M (12). * Operating profit for the financial year amounted to SEK 221M (189). Profit after financial items increased by 25 per cent to SEK 221M (178). * During the 1997/98 financial year, Lindex's sales rose by 11.3 per cent (8.6) to SEK 3,212M (2,887). Lindex's market shares continued to increase. * The first four stores in Lindex's fourth market, Germany, opened during the period March-April 1998. In total, 23 (15) new stores were opened.
