Sales increased by 11 per cent

INTERIM REPORT SIX MONTHS 1 September 1998 - 28 February 1999 SALES INCREASED BY 11 PER CENT * Sales in the first six months of the financial year increased by 10.6 per cent to SEK1,829M (1,654). Lindex continued to take market shares on all geographic markets. * Same store sales rose by 4.3 per cent (5.2). * Operating profit amounted to SEK 145M (151) and profit after financial items to SEK 148M (149). * During the period, the charge to profit for establishing Lindex's third market, Germany, amounted to SEK 29M (8). No provision was made for synthetic options (previous year: SEK 17M). * In the second quarter of the financial year, operating profit amounted to SEK 66M (72) and profit after financial items to SEK 69M (71). * In total, 12 (11) new stores were opened during the first six months of the financial year. * During the period, September 1998 - February 1999, 3 stores were opened in Germany.
