The Swedish fashion retail chain, Lindex, expands with three new stores in Germany The shopping centre, Rhein Ruhr Zentrum, is the first. It opens on Thursday 15 October. The expansion will continue during the autumn with an additional two stores in the Ruhr region. Lindex's fifth store is located in the shopping centre, Rhein Ruhr Zentrum, Muelheim an der Ruhr and covers 700 square metres. The store comprises ladies' wear and children's clothing as well as lingerie and is a step in Lindex's continued expansion on the German market. The Company already has a store in Forum City, Muelheim an der Ruhr. "The ladies of Muelheim like our store and our product range so it is very gratifying to open the doors to a new store here. Rhein Ruhr Zentrum is a well-established shopping centre and the premises are ideal for our open and bright store-planning," says Christer Malmerberg, Managing Director of Lindex in Germany. Lindex's product profile has proved to be ideal for German women. Results of polls carried out by GFK Marktforschung show that German women consider that Lindex's clothes fill an important void between the cheap chains and the exclusive brands. According to customers, the clothes are very fashionable and of high quality. The stores are perceived as warm and cosy and the promotional activities are seen as original and pioneering. "In addition to various offers, we will hold a competition during the opening day. Over a period of five minutes, the participants select a number of garments of their choice from our product range for DM 150. All the garments they have the time to pick, they are given. The competition and the activities are being led by a compère," adds Christer Malmerberg.
