Linxon wins turnkey order for Barkarby substation project, Sweden
Linxon has won an order from the Swedish utility Vattenfall Eldistribution AB in Sweden, to supply a 130 kV/10 kV Gas Insulated (GIS) turnkey substation to Barkarby in Stockholm. The city is expanding heavily in the northwest part and the station is needed to secure the electrical infrastructure in this growing area.
The Linxon turnkey supply includes project management, engineering, equipment supply, civil design, civil works, installation and commissioning. The 130 kV GIS is the main equipment and will be sourced from Hitachi ABB Power Grids. The civil works consist of two substation buildings with high requirements on the external finishing to fit to the surroundings in the new modern district of Barkarby.
Site works is planned to start in the autumn 2020 and the project is estimated to be completed in the beginning of 2022.
“This project helps to ramp up the grid capability in Stockholm and we are honored to receive this trust from Vattenfall Eldistribution AB, one of our esteemed customers in Scandinavia”, said Frederic Trefois, CEO of Linxon. “It demonstrates that our clients have confidence that our comprehensive offering is able to deliver enhanced value.”
Linxon commenced operations on September 1, 2018, undertaking turnkey electrical alternating current substation projects related to renewable and conventional power generation, power transmission and transportation solutions. Substations enable the efficient and reliable transmission and distribution of electricity. Within the substation, switchgear controls and protects the network from power outages and facilitates reliable electricity supply.
