Open auditions for Guys and Dolls

Sunday 23 May 10am Grand Opera House York Are you aged 10-21? Would you like to take part in a full scale musical production of Guys and Dolls during the summer holidays? If the answer is yes, please come along to our open auditions, here at the Grand Opera House York, on Sunday 23 May at 10am. Guys and Dolls tells the story of a group of small-time gamblers and the ladies in their lives! Nathan Detroit bets his pal Sky Masterson that he can't make the next lady he sees fall in love with him, and when the next lady happens to be the prim and proper neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown, the stage is set for an evening of high spirited entertainment, set to the toe tapping beat of Frank Loesser's thrilling score. Featuring numbers such as Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat, Luck Be A Lady Tonight and Take Back Your Mink, the show brings to life the Broadway of the 1940's, inhabited by gamblers, nightclub dancers and members of the Salvation Army in search of sinners to cure. We are looking for singers, dancers and actors to take part in this exciting two week project, working with a professional director and choreographer. Stage Experience runs from Friday 23 July to Saturday 7 August, culminating in 4 public performances. We also need young and aspiring theatre technicians to take part in the project working with our professional team on sound, lighting, set, props and costume – technical applicants must be over the age of 16.
