Greek cinema, violence and the family

Dr Lydia Papadimitriou, Senior Lecturer in Film Studies, was a guest speaker on “The Film Programme” on BBC Radio 4 on Thursday 12thJune 12 (and Sunday 15thJune) discussing the depiction of violence in the family in contemporary Greek films, on the occasion of the UK release of Alexandros Avranas’ film “Miss Violence” (2013).

Dr Papadimitriou is a leading scholar on Greek cinema in the UK and internationally. Her publications include a monograph and a collection of essays on Greek cinema, as well as a range of articles addressing both contemporary and historical topics.
