The home test kit is straightforward - the easy-to-use pen device allows you to perform a finger prick in order to deposit a few drops of blood on the test paper. The blood sample can then be sent for analysis in the pre-addressed envelope found inside the kit. Tests are completely anonymous - identifiable only by a single use reference code.
Test results are available online after 10 days from www.1life63.co.uk . The test gives a protection rating from 0–100%, which indicates the degree to which the composition of fatty acids in our diets will protect us from developing lifestyle diseases. The test also uses the fatty acid profile to determine levels of saturated fat, monounsaturated fat, polyunsaturated vegetable oils and fish oils in our blood. This provides targeted guidance on how we can adjust our diets accordingly.
As the World Health Organisation (WHO) predicts that by 2020 70% of all illness will be caused by poor diet and lifestyle, the 1Life test allows us to efficiently monitor the risk factors of diet. It provides a clear protection rating score and measures individual fatty acid levels, making targeted dietary adjustment easy.

The formula prevents oil from oxidising in the body and therefore protects cells from injuries caused by oxidative stress. Other Omega-3 products which use Vitamin E or similar compounds as antioxidants, can protect the oil whilst on the shelf, but not inside the body. Such products may not be recommended to restore and maintain fatty acid balance, since the Omega-3 dose required may result in the oil going off or oxidizing in the body and causing damage.
