Innovative Life Learning Cloud learning platform from UniServity enriches learning experience for the schools 282 pupils and extends learning outside the classroom
Beechwood Primary School in Wokingham, Berkshire is enriching the learning experience for its 282 pupils with the introduction of a dynamic new learning platform that can be accessed anytime anywhere, inside and outside the classroom. A welcomed upgrade to the school’s original UniServity cLc, the new learning platform known as Life utilizes Web 3.0 technology to intelligently push to the desktop relevant tools, resources, content and people to help student’s study.
“It’s brilliant!” said Phil Healy, Web Manager, “it personalizes the learning experience for students, making it really engaging. Not only can they gain access to the very latest information, they can share it and interact with their peers and teachers in a secure and auditable way. It also includes a personal online learning space, a diverse range of learning cells (e.g. content, feeds) and applications such as blogs, wikis and forums. And the best thing? Students can log on anytime anywhere using an array of every day technologies ranging from PCs to laptops, tablets to mobile phones.
“We took the decision to adopt the Life Learning Cloud to better connect with our new generation of techno-savvy students, and to introduce a more flexible way of delivering the excellent teaching that the school offers. Life allows us to integrate our traditional teaching methods with technologies and learning tools that children are familiar with, bringing new interactions to the classroom and closing the digital divide between teachers and students. Parents are also set to benefit as the new platform gives them online access to resources and homework, school bulletins and discussion groups, so enabling them to better support their children.
“We have worked with UniServity for 5 years now and the educational support that they have given us to date has been outstanding.”
Matt Clarke, CEO at UniServity, said: “The Life Learning Cloud has been built to be easily adaptable and to help schools to deliver the interactive learning experience students expect.”
