Cambridge GCSE Computing Online
Launched in September 2013, the
Cambridge GCSE Computing Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) has attracted 40,000 unique visitors, 2,500 student registrations and 1,500 teacher registrations in just two months. Available for free, this new MOOC is accessible on- the- go via smart phones and tablets, as well as on computers in the classroom or at home. Featuring a rich combination of videos and interactive learning exercises, the MOOC can be used in the classroom, as a traditional teaching resource, as a revision aid, as a self-teaching resource for flipped classrooms, or a combination of all three.

The online course is aligned to OCR’s pioneering GCSE in Computing and features the popular pocket-sized ‘Raspberry Pi’ computer in a starring role.

Cambridge School Shakespeare

To support the new editions of the School Shakespeare series, Cambridge University Press has developed a suite of online teaching and learning tools through its partnership with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and the Fitzwilliam Museum.

Students can design costumes, sequence plots and even explore phrases and insults, whilst teachers can access webinars from expert lecturers and download lesson plans.

Cambridge University Press’s 'Shakespeare's World' gallery offers 360 degree views of artefacts from the world of his plays, whilst a collection of Elizabethan portraits exemplifies characters and costumes of the period - all with related learning resources.

As part of the greater focus on Shakespeare in the National Curriculum, these enhanced digital assets will address the ten major plays used in schools beginning with KS3, including Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet and Hamlet.

Cambridge Primary Maths

Ideal for schools teaching the Cambridge Primary curriculum, Cambridge Primary Maths https://cambridgeprimary.cie.org.uk/cambridgeprimarymaths is an exciting teaching package, combining online and print resources mapped to the Cambridge Primary curriculum. This innovative resource brings together the world-class Cambridge Primary curriculum from Cambridge International Examinations, pedagogically-led publishing from Cambridge University Press and engaging enrichment materials from the internationally renowned online NRICH project.

English Language Teaching (ELT) Resources

ELT teachers looking for new resources to support learners are invited to take a look at Discovery Readers, Touchstone and Unlock from Cambridge University Press’s ELT group.

Combining thought-provoking video from Discovery Education with carefully scaffolded exercises and a fresh approach to critical thinking skills, Unlock enables learners to develop the academic skills and language that will lead to success in their studies.

The world’s first fully blended four skills English language course, Touchstone Blended Learning is a completely customisable suite of print and digital course components that can be delivered 100 per cent online, 100 per cent in print, or anywhere in between. It is the first fully blended English language course from Cambridge University Press.

Commenting on the show Linden Harris, newly-appointed Deputy Managing Director, Education at Cambridge University Press, said: ‘Digital education is evolving at an incredible rate. As a lead educator in the UK and across the globe, we are keen to showcase our cutting-edge digital resources designed to inspire and engage learners and support teachers – particularly in the UK with the advent of the new curriculum.’
