On stand A230 at BETT 2013, Contact Group will be showcasing the latest developments in communication, monitoring and reporting solutions and an award-winning portfolio of parental notification systems for schools and local authorities. They will be introducing their latest addition to the Contact Group suite, Looked After Call, a cost-saving solution designed to help local authorities accurately and securely monitor the school attendance of children in their care.

Visitors to the stand will be welcomed with expert advice and guided demonstrations on Contact Group’s wide range of highly successful communications solutions within the education sector including Text a Letter’ functionality for its Call Parents Cloud system, enabling schools to text letters to parents, saving them from having to print and post letters to parents, Truancy Call, Text Someone, Term Time Tracker and e-Mentoring.

Reducing costs by up to 40%, Looked After Call collates and processes data in real-time, automatically notifying carers via text or phone call should a child be absent from school. Automating the once manual process, data can be further drilled down to show personal details, pupil’s assessments, behaviour marks or detentions, special education needs, Personal Education Plans (PEPs), school history and exclusions.

Stephen Clarke, Managing Director, Contact Group, comments: “With increasing pressure on local authorities to improve the attendance and attainment levels of looked after children, Looked After Call provides in-depth, online reports on each child’s attendance in a daily, weekly or monthly format to ensure that no child falls through the gaps, even when they move out of borough.

A new feature added to Call Parents Cloud is Truancy Call - a proven solution that reduces unauthorised absence by monitoring and providing real time reporting and stats on student attendance.

Stephen Clarke adds: “Poor attendance at school can be damaging to a child’s education. With truancy figures on the rise, most recently reported amongst primary aged children, schools are looking to implement cost effective and efficient solutions that will help tackle this issue early on. Our products have been eagerly adopted by thousands of schools and local authorities throughout the UK and play an integral part in their communication systems.”
