Contact Group showcases the latest school communication technology at the Scottish Learning Festival 2012
Showcasing the latest developments in school-to-home communication solutions and an award-winning portfolio of parental notification systems currently used in over 200 Scottish schools, Contact Group will be exhibiting on Stand A1 at the 2012 Scottish Learning Festival. Presenting a host of new and exciting features, Call Parents – an efficient and cost-effective messaging system, now includes Truancy Call – a solution that provides real time reporting and statistics on student absence, offering a more comprehensive approach to school communications.
Call Parents unique ‘Text a Letter’ function enables schools to send a letter to parents via text (SMS),which means no longer having to waste valuable time and money printing and sending letters to parents. Schools can simply upload a letter and select their recipients who will receive the text, along with instructions on how to access the letter. In addition, schools can view the ‘read’ status to see who has and hasn’t read the letter.
Truancy Call allows school staff to implement first day contact with parents of absentees via email, text message or automated phone call to obtain a direct response from parents. With recent figures reporting half of Scottish school children missing lessons through truancy or unauthorised family holidays, Truancy Call is a proven solution that reduces down unauthorised absence, providing ideal provision for early intervention.
Visitors to the stand will also receive expert advice and guided demonstrations on Contact Group’s wide range of highly successful communications solutions within the education sector including Text Someone, an anti-bullying system that encourages young people to confidentially report incidences of bullying or any anti-social behaviour directly to schools via an email, text message or a phone call; plus e-Mentoring, which as a secure messaging system, compliments traditional face to face mentoring, supports communication between mentor and learner, allowing moderated, two-way dialogue. It also offers the option to create and enter online forums, further enhancing the mentoring process.
