Contact Group, home-school communications specialist (stand A250), will be showcasing its new look-and-feel OurSchoolsApp, a free personalised app for parents to keep up to date with the latest news and information about their child’s school.  Also new to Bett will be its new Text Someone mobile app for students to report bullying 24/7.  Alongside OurSchoolsApp and Text Someone, Contact Group will be exhibiting Call Parents - an easy messaging system that allows information to be sent to parents or teachers via text, email or phone as well as Truancy Call - a messaging system developed to help reduce absence rates in schools.

Contact Group works with schools and local authorities, providing solutions to help reduce unauthorised absence, increase reporting of bullying and promote effective communication between school and home. See the exhibitor page and an overview of our products (below) for more information.

Showcasing at Bett is OurSchoolsApp - a personalised app for schools. Free for parents to use, it allows schools to keep parents up to date with the latest news and information about their child’s school.

Parents can also access an events calendar and up-to-date contact information with the click though options to call or email. New features include an enhanced home interface where schools can add their own links – for example to their Ofsted report or Twitter account.

OurSchoolsApp can be fully branded with the school logo, colours and images. It is easy to update and does not require any technical expertise. For more information visit http://www.the-contactgroup.com/products/ourschoolsapp/

Text Someone was developed in response to a high level of unreported bullying in schools. It allows students to report bullying 24/7 via a method they are comfortable using, through a text message or mobile app.

New to Bett this year, Contact Group will be showing its mobile app. If a student is the victim of cyberbullying, the app can take a picture as evidence and upload it to the system. Staff are alerted when a message is received and can view and respond securely, ensuring the first step is made to tackle the problem.

The service is promoted to students at school through posters, planner inserts and cards. For more information visit http://www.the-contactgroup.com/products/text-someone/.

Call Parents is an easy to use messaging system for schools. It allows information to be sent to parents or teachers via text, email or phone in a few simple clicks.

Information and updates can reach parents easily. Letters, for example, that often get lost in bags, do not need to be printed and given to students - they can be e-mailed or texted via the unique 'Text a Letter' function.

Call Parents can be accessed securely via a remote system, meaning updates can be issued from anywhere, anytime. This is particularly useful for school closures, for example ‘snow days’. Call Parents dynamically integrates with existing Management Information Systems.

Truancy Call is a messaging system developed to help reduce absence rates in schools. When a student is marked as absent, the system will send an automated phone call, email or text message to parents, which allows them to respond in the same manner. This process is repeated until a response is provided, ensuring that no student goes missing.

Used by over 2000 schools, Truancy Call saves time and money by reducing the burden of mass calling for office staff. Like Call Parents, Truancy Call dynamically integrates with existing Management Information Systems, so only one database needs to be maintained.
