The UK’s leading learning platform provider, Frog, will be giving visitors a sneak peek of its new learning platform designed specifically for tablets and mobile devices on stand B16 at the SSAT Conference, ACC, 4 - 5 December 2012, in Liverpool.

The new learning platform will truly extend education beyond the school gates, with children able to access classroom content on the move and at home. Teachers will be able to create and share resources, update lessons plans and mark homework on any device, anytime, anywhere. The new technology is a real game changer in education and will be available early next year.

Collaboration

Frog is constantly developing more efficient ways for schools to collaborate and share best practice. Lucy Evans, Head of Customer Services at Frog explains: “Schools should never underestimate the power of a community. At Frog we have a vibrant group of teachers, heads, ICT coordinators etc. that regularly collaborate through our community site and networking events.

“We have hundreds examples of best practice and ideas that we share with our schools.”

Innovation

Schools are using technology to design their own ICT curriculum, giving students ownership of their learning, allowing them to be collaborative, entrepreneurial and creative.

Two students at Devonport High School for Boys in Devon spent a year writing and designing a mobile site that connects Frog with students, parents and staff. The students have since set up their own company and now design bespoke apps and sites for other Frog schools. The intuitiveness of the school’s learning platform meant that the students quickly developed the skills to build their own sites and apps. The app has inspired other students and as a result, the school has integrated app design into a new key stage 3 curriculum, exemplifying how the school fosters a creative approach to learning that places it in the hands of students.

Support

Frog recognises that many schools need support to get to the same level as schools like Devonport High School for Boys.

Each school is now assigned a dedicated contact from the moment they buy Frog, who will stay with them throughout their entire journey. The contact will train them on the new technology, support them with implementation and make sure they get the most out of their new learning platform.

Integration

Visitors to stand B16 will also be able to find out about Frog’s new partnership with I Am Learning, the UK's leading provider of games-based homework and revision.

The partnership brings together I Am Learning’s revision and assessment software with Frog’s powerful learning platform, allowing teachers to create engaging and motivational assignments for their students.

Michael Wilkinson, Managing Director of I Am Learning comments: “No other company works with our developers to give the highest level of integration possible. With Frog, we go beyond single sign-on and actually share our products, helping schools solve their problems. It just works.”
