The DORE Centre in Stratford upon Avon is holding drop-in information days each Wednesday during August, to showcase their Programme for people with learning difficulties

On Wednesday 1st August, the Dore Centre, based in Stratford upon Avon, will open its doors to the general public and invite them to drop-in to learn more about their drug-free Programme for learning difficulties. Subsequent drop-in days will be 8th, 15th, 22ndand 29th August.

Visitors are welcome to come along for an informal chat, to take a look at the centre and hear about the ways that the Dore Programme can help people with learning difficulties, including dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. Staff will also be on hand to offer advice, respond to any queries and demonstrate some of the exercises used as part of the Programme.

It is estimated that one in six people in the UK are living with a specific learning difficulty. Over the years, tens of thousands of people, of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world, have successfully completed the Dore Programme, which starts with a detailed assessment and a consultation with a doctor. Participants are then given an individualised programme of balancing and eye tracking exercises for a period of 12 to 18 months. These are designed to improve the function of the cerebellum, the part of the brain which plays a major role in learning and helps to make skills become automatic.

Crishni Warning, Managing Director at Dore, comments: “It is extremely important to the Dore team that we work with our local community to ensure that people with learning difficulties are aware of the solutions that are available to help them. Our drop-in days provide the perfect opportunity for people in the surrounding areas, and further afield, to pay a casual visit to the centre, learn more about what we do and discover the ways that we may be able to help.”

The drop-ins will take place at the Dore Centre, Bridgeway House, Bridgeway, Stratford upon Avon. Attendance is free, but please register your interest online at http://www.dore.co.uk/contact or phone 0333 123 0100.
