When Kiruna Church reaches its new home, an atmospheric evening awaits with one of Sweden's most beloved artists. It is now clear that Carola will take the stage during the evening program on August 20, the final day of the historic event organised by LKAB.

"Carola has a unique ability to touch people, and with her presence she adds an extra sparkle to the celebration of the move. The church has been an important gathering place for generations and we are very happy that one of the country's leading voices wants to be involved and carry that sense of community forward to the next chapter in the development of Kiruna. It will be a worthy ending and an evening to remember", says Stefan Holmblad Johansson, project manager for the church relocation, LKAB.

Carola will perform a piano concert in a more intimate setting, where both music and emotion are at the center. The concert will take place in the new Kiruna city center and will be preceded by a number of other activities and performances. It has already been announced that the Swedish Eurovision entry KAJ will perform during the event, together with several local artists. Among the participants are Vox Arctica, Kiruna Gospel Choir, Sami Choir, Fredrik Hangasjärvi and Emma Kiviniemi, and Kiruna Kickers.

The relocation of Kiruna Church is a globally unique happening organised by LKAB and taking place on 19-20 August 2025. The move will be livestreamed and the entire program will span three days. Everything is free of charge and no advance booking is required.

Kiruna Church has been named Sweden’s most beautiful building and holds great cultural and historical value. It will be the largest building to be moved as part of the urban transformation that began planning over 20 years ago and has received worldwide attention.

The reason for the move is the mining operations at LKAB’s iron ore mine, which are affecting the area considered the old town center where the church is currently situated.
