Accent Peerless Ltd has made 33 brand new affordable homes available to rent in Maidstone town centre. Ten of these are going to be made available to people on Maidstone Borough Council’s waiting list, while the remaining 23 are available for the general public to rent. Recognising the difficulties that first time buyers have in accessing an affordable mortgage product, Accent Peerless is renting out the 23 new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments located in Pudding Lane. The apartments are being let below market rent, which means that the rents are reduced to 20% below their market value, reducing a 1 bed to around £400.00 per month. Andrew Connors, Housing Enabling Officer at Maidstone Council has been working with Accent Peerless on the development of the apartments and comments: “We are delighted that Accent Peerless has been able to provide these good quality, affordable new homes, where the standard of work and finishing is so high. The attractive design and prime location within the town centre, with good access to shops and local services, means there is likely to be a high demand for all of these units. He added: “The new homes will also make a significant contribution towards meeting the diverse needs of existing and future local residents at a time when the demand for affordable housing is increasing due to the prevailing economic circumstances”. Zoe Paine, Marketing Manager at Accent Peerless said: “The interest in such developments is always high. The apartments will be ready to move into in mid October and our challenge now is to ensure they are let to the people who need them the most. Depending on the future of the property and mortgage markets, tenants may have the opportunity to purchase equity in their homes in the future.” For more information or to arrange a viewing, please contact Stagnell Fox on 0845 130 1422 or take a look on their website www.stagnellfox.co.uk
