Local social care charity YOU is celebrating being listed as the twelfth best Public and Charity company to work for in the country. The announcement was made after the Best Companies List was revealed at a gala ceremony held in London last week.

In a letter to Liz Page, Director of People and Learning at YOU, Jonathan Austin, Founder & CEO of Best Companies Ltd, said “On behalf of Best Companies Limited, the name behind The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists, I am delighted that you have achieved a place on this year’s list. You should be truly proud that your employees and colleagues recognise you as a ‘Best Place to Work’.” “We are absolutely delighted to come twelfth on the Best Companies list.” said a delighted Liz. “We were in 96th position last year and were hopeful we would achieve a better result this year, but accomplishing twelfth position was beyond our wildest expectations!” YOU was recently awarded two star accreditation by Best Companies and are one of only 158 organisations in the UK to receive this status. Positioning on the list and the award is based entirely on staff feedback, honouring companies who use employee engagement as an integral part of their success and growth. “Both the two star status and the Best Companies List achievement are accomplishments shared by each and every member of the team, whose dedication, effort and pride in their work has enabled us to receive this recognition and made YOU such a lovely organisation to work for,” said Liz. Based in Fareham with branches across the south, YOU provides services to people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, people with a mental illness, people with a learning disability, young people (including young parents) at risk of homelessness, ex-offenders and women and children surviving domestic violence.
