Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Fareham Shopping Centre helps to recruit Kids’ Club members

Fareham Shopping Centre invited young shoppers to a Teddy Bears’ Picnic this weekend to celebrate and help launch the Centre’s new Kids’ Club. Picnic-goers were treated to a free muffin from BB’s Coffee & Muffins if they returned an application form to join the Club. Centre Director, Pam Marsden explains: “Fareham Shopping Centre is an ideal destination for families. It’s all on one level, undercover and has plenty of places to eat; it offers easy, hassle-free shopping and there’s always something going on. Our new Kids’ Club paves the way for a string of child-focussed events and activities to keep the little ones entertained during the Summer and throughout the year.” “Once they’ve joined, members will receive a welcome letter and a Kids’ Club hat or bag. We will then keep in touch throughout the year with activity books, competitions and a monthly birthday draw.” Dozens of kids brought along their own teddy bears to the event on Sunday to join in the fun and to meet the Centre’s very own cuddly mascot bear – who currently has no name. Joining members are invited to suggest a name for the bear and for a chance to win toys and games from the Fareham Toy Shop, soon to open in the Centre. The Bear-naming competition closes at 5pm on Monday 30th August. Shoppers have three more chances to attend a Teddy Bears’ Picnic in the Centre. There’s one every Sunday for the rest of August between 2pm and 4pm. Shoppers simply pick up a leaflet in the Centre, fill it in and head on down to BB’s Coffee and Muffins.
