08.10.09 Profile Raising Event – Naomi House Children’s Hospice The Thomas Eggar Private Client Team spent a glorious day trimming, tidying and clearing the hospice garden in preparation for the open days on 18th-20th September 2009. Naomi House, based in Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, provides respite care for terminally ill children and their families. Enjoying a day of beautiful sunshine, the team of Anna Burnside, Sarah Phillips, Stewart Stretton-Hill, Penny Wright, Jo Hodgson, Vicky Brackstone, Kristina Taylor, Elaine Ratcliffe and Margaret Wegner spent many hours clearing the paths, pruning hedges, tidying borders and cleaning the disability access lift. They even tried their hand at construction, building a ramp for the playhouse. Ray Kipling, Chief Executive of Naomi House, praised the team when he said, “The volunteers have done a great job, helping out at Naomi House. Open Days are very important to us, and their efforts made a big difference to our team getting ready for the event this year. And I would like to thank the team for the donation of £100 which is very welcomed.” Anna Burnside from Thomas Eggar, Newbury said, "The team worked really hard to help tidy the gardens ready for the open days and it was great to be able to help such a worthwhile cause. We were able to take with us £100.00, raised from a cake sale in the office, to go towards equipment for Naomi House." Despite aching muscles and sunburnt brows the team had a thoroughly enjoyable day despite and were delighted to help in a small way towards the wonderful work which is undertaken at the hospice.
