Fiendish fun was had by all with pumpkin-juggling, magic and crazy antics

Fareham Shopping Centre entertained young shoppers this weekend with a whole host of acts and entertainers, and in doing so raised nearly £400 for the RSPCA’s Stubbington Ark. Kids and their families delighted at the Halloween pumpkin–juggling and pumpkin-carving, crazy magic and wacky origami, courtesy of Mr Tall the Vampire and Robbie the Scarecrow who had the children in stitches with their silly ways. A creative face-painter was busy giving some frightening makeovers and the Balloon Man made all manner of zany inflatable creations. Boots, Thomas Cook, ShakeAway, Clintons and many more of the Centre’s top name stores also took part – giving away free goodies and refreshments and a mega prize raffle saw a whole host of prizes being won, include a £250 ladies watch donated by Aylings Jewellers, camping equipment from Millets, fabulous toiletries from Boots and a luxury hamper from M&S. Vanessa Eden from The Ark, who assisted the fund-raising spree, commented: “We are very grateful to Fareham Shopping Centre for all their hard work in organising such a wonderful event, and also to the shoppers who donated so generously. Stubbington Ark receives no government funding or lottery grants, so we rely on charity donations to keep the Centre running.” Centre Director, Pam Marsden, added: “We know how hard it is to find free entertainment for the kids, especially during the half-term holidays. The fun continues on Tuesday 26th October when we invite young shoppers to our second ‘Story Time Tuesday’ event, hosted by Waterstone’s. Little ones can settle down and listen to a selection of spooky stories being read to them, and afterwards they can take part in some arts and crafts activities, all absolutely free. What’s more, everyone who attends will have the chance to win a £10 book voucher in an hourly prize draw, courtesy of the Centre. Stories begin at 2pm, then 3pm and again at 4pm.” -Ends- Words: 336
