Southampton law firm in the running for Excellence in Learning and Development

The Southampton office of solicitors Thomas Eggar LLP is celebrating their recognition by the judges of the most prestigious awards in the legal calendar. The leading law firm has been shortlisted in the Learning and Development category of the Law Society’s Excellence Awards due to be held later this month. BBC Broadcaster Mishal Husain will present the awards at a prestigious black tie dinner and presentation ceremony, which will take place on October 21st in London. Judges deciding the winner of the Learning and Development category will be looking for the very best examples of high quality and influential programmes of learning and development from across the legal sector. Richard Purcell, Partner at Thomas Eggar LLP in Southampton comments: “We recognise that the strength of our client offering can only ever be as strong as the team delivering it, and pride ourselves on the programmes we have in place to develop and foster our staff, both legal and non-legal. We are delighted that our efforts have been acknowledged by these extremely prestigious awards.” The awards reward the most outstanding practitioners in the legal profession. They are designed to recognise best practice across the industry and celebrate excellence and outstanding achievement in areas that are central to the profession today. They highlight innovative business and quality of life practices, successful approaches to practice management, contributions through social responsibility and equality and diversity initiatives. Linda Lee, Law Society President said: "Once again, we have seen a very high standard of entries received for the Excellence Awards. Those who have made the short list should be extremely proud of getting this far, as this year we received a record number of superb entries. "The Excellence Awards recognise the innovation, quality and tenacity that is characteristic of the legal profession. We hope that those shortlisted will act as an inspiration to others."
