Young shopper wins bundle of toys and games for choosing the best name

Fareham Shopping Centre has revealed the name of its new mascot – Toffee Bear. The name was suggested by young shopper Linden Henkes (6) from Whiteley as part of a competition the Centre ran throughout August. Linden won an armful of toys and games from the Fareham Toy Shop, coming soon to the Centre, to say thank you and congratulations. The bear-naming competition celebrates the launch of the Centre’s new Kids’ Club, which has welcomed over 100 members so far. The Club gives children the chance to enter exclusive competitions and prize draws as well as receive free goodies, such as a member’s bag, and a specially designed activity book every three months. Centre Director, Pam Marsden is delighted with the interest already received and says: “We are always planning fun things and free activities for our young shoppers as we know how hard it can be to keep children entertained these days. Our free Kids’ Club is all part of this commitment to make Fareham Shopping Centre a great place for families to visit.” She adds: “Toffee Bear will be ‘out and about’ in the Centre on several occasions throughout the year, so look out for him and make sure you give him a wave.” Children can join the Kids’ Club at any time. Application forms are available in the Centre or can be downloaded at www.farehamshopping.com
