Alea Leeds donates cheque to Leeds Community Foundation
On Saturday 27th June at 4pm, Alea Casino in Leeds (London Clubs Internationals most recent venue) donated £500 to the Leeds Community Foundation. Alea’s new Club Director Tommy Gibbons presented the cheque to the patron of the charity at the Dragon Boat Award Ceremony at Brewerys Wharf where the prize ceremony took place.
The Leeds Community Foundation is a charitable trust that works alongside people that want to help transform local communities by providing financial support for community and voluntary groups tackling some of the city’s biggest issues. Their focus is to encourage philanthropy, in all shapes and sizes. The charity calls this the “spirit of giving.” London Clubs and Alea are proud to work with such an inspirational local cause. Says Tommy Gibbons, Club Director at Alea: “It is very important to us as a company to be socially aware and we enjoy working closely with the community on a nationwide basis. This includes organisations such as newly merged charity Age Concern & Help The Aged to which London Clubs International has donated over £120,000 in the last couple of years. “The company also works with Crimestoppers and the Responsibility in Gambling Trust which funds GamCare. All staff are openly encouraged to get involved in charity fund-raising on their own initiatives that London Clubs International takes great pleasure in supporting. “The staff at Leeds made it clear that the Leeds Community Foundation is a cause they are passionate about and consequently raised £500 to donate to this local charity. Alea will also be working with Age Concern & Help The Aged later this year on a larger project in line with the casinos first anniversary.” Alea are also sponsoring West Yorkshire Police, who are entering an 'It’s a knockout' competition on Sat 4th July in aid of Lineham farm - a charity which provides support for underprivileged children in Leeds. Alea will be donating T-Shirts and cash to the value of £300!
