A Stall at “A Garden Party to Make A Difference” for the Aquatina Collapsible Bottle and Find-a-Fountain

Aquatina, the world’s first collapsible pocket bottle, sold out in just three days after going on sale at Howies flagship store on Carnaby Street. Howies were also London’s first retailer to appear on Aquatina’s Find-a-Fountain map which shows Londoners where they can fill up their bottles for free. Aquatina, recently featured on Dragon’s Den, will face the public in more tranquil circumstance by providing water on their stand at ‘A Garden Party To Make A Difference’, a rare opportunity to visit the Prince of Wales’ gardens at Clarence House, together with his neighbours’ gardens at Lancaster House and Marlborough House. The garden party, will last 12 days, from 8 to the 19 September 2010, from 10am to 6pm daily. The event aims to give people of all ages a fun day out while at the same time, via the exhibits, demonstrating the small steps that can, and are, being taken by all of us, interested in building a more sustainable future. Aquatina plan to raise money at the event to establish Find-a-Fountain as a charity to map drinking water sources and raise money to restore and install fountains. Jeremiah adds: “To be exhibiting at the garden party feels like the next chapter in our story. Aquatina is a stylish and eco-friendly product and we are looking forward to showing it to people who understand the issues surrounding sustainability” The creation of the Aquatina was initially dismissed as impossible by design experts, because of the problems inherent in blow-moulding technology. But following a year-long process, a patent pending design has been created by Wares Design and manufactured by William Becketts Plastics, both in Sheffield. The Aquatina will be available at 300 High Street Stores from October following a recent order for 10,000 bottles.
