Rigterink strengthens its electrification strategy with Pathfinder from LOTS Group

Rigterink Logistikgruppe, a family-run food logistics specialist headquartered in Germany with a fleet of more than 400 tractor units, is strengthening its electrification strategy through the use of Pathfinder, LOTS Group’s planning and decision-support tool for data-driven transport decarbonization.

Pathfinder is an AI‑built planning tool, developed by the Scania subsidiary company LOTS Group, that helps carriers and shippers analyze transport flows, identify suitable routes for electrification, and build structured transition plans based on real operational data.

With electric vehicles already in operation, Rigterink is now focusing on optimizing deployment, scaling electrification across its network, and clearly demonstrating what is possible to customers.

From ambition to structured electrification planning

Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, Rigterink wanted to keep full control of its electrification journey. Using Pathfinder, the company can build electrification plans based on actual shipment patterns, battery capacity, and charging availability, while evaluating different rollout scenarios through a repeatable, in-house workflow.

Clear, data-driven dialogue with shippers

A key objective for Rigterink is to communicate electrification plans with clarity and credibility. Pathfinder enables the company to generate concrete route maps, volumes, deployment phases, and quantified impacts – supporting transparent and fact-based discussions with shippers.

“Now we walk in with concrete routes, numbers, and schedules. When a shipper asks detailed questions, we can open Pathfinder and show exactly what is possible,” say the brothers Rigterink.

A collaboration supporting scalable, data-driven transition

By combining Rigterink’s deep operational knowledge with LOTS Group’s data-driven planning capabilities, the collaboration supports a more credible and scalable transition to sustainable food logistics. It demonstrates how carriers can stay in the driver’s seat of electrification while moving faster and with greater confidence.

“This collaboration marks an important step in turning electrification ambitions into actionable, data-driven plans for large transport networks,” says Johan Palmqvist, Managing Director at LOTS Group.
