The VELUX Group and LOTS Group join forces to speed up electrified logistics on a record-length BEV route in Europe

Stockholm, May 26 2026. VELUX and LOTS Group, a subsidiary of Scania, are collaborating to accelerate low-emission logistics across Europe through AI-driven planning and electrified transport operations. Together, the partners aim to develop a scalable model for battery-electric freight transport along a 1,250 km round trip route, combining operational data, scenario modelling and intelligent logistics planning to support the decarbonisation of long-haul transport.

Danish roof window manufacturer VELUX and LOTS Group, a subsidiary of Scania, are collaborating to accelerate the transition to low-emission logistics in the VELUX European transport network, with the ambition to develop a scalable model for electrified logistics operations along a 1,250 km round trip route — one of Europe’s longest battery-electric vehicle (BEV) corridors. The collaboration began early 2026 with a pilot phase evaluating the operational and financial feasibility of BEVs in selected transport flows. Using the AI-based logistics platform Pathfinder, LOTS Group analysed routes, charging infrastructure, shipment data and operational constraints.

Through scenario modelling and data analysis, the partners can evaluate different electrification strategies, reduce implementation risks and develop practical deployment plans.

“For us, the transition to lower-emission transport must be both ambitious and practical. By combining LOTS Group’s planning capabilities with insights from our own transport flows, we can assess how electric trucks can be integrated into our network while maintaining the reliability, flexibility and efficiency our business requires.”, says Søren Back Pedersen, Sr Director, Market Logistics and Sourcing at VELUX.

“The initial pilot phase allowed us to analyse real logistics flows and evaluate how electrification could work in practice,” says Max Blatt, CEO at LOTS Group. “Building on those insights, we are now expanding the collaboration to explore how AI-driven logistics planning, data and electrified transport can support VELUX in reducing emissions across its network.”

“Reducing emissions from transport is an important part of our climate journey at VELUX. Through this collaboration with LOTS Group, we can use real logistics data to better understand where electrification can create value and how it can be implemented in a way that supports both our sustainability ambitions and operational performance, says Nadia Møllebjerg, Senior Program Manager, Logistics Sustainability at VELUX.

VELUX has set ambitious climate targets and is actively exploring solutions that can reduce emissions across its value chain. Through the collaboration with LOTS Group, the company aims to combine AI-planned logistics with electrified transport solutions to support the long-term decarbonisation of its European logistics operations.

By combining agentic planning, operational data and access to electric transport capacity, the partners aim to develop a scalable approach for electrifying long-haul logistics, demonstrating how the transition to zero-emission freight transport is possible today.
