RUSTON, La – GE Aviation and the State of Louisiana will partner to create opportunities for small businesses in the state. They will host a small business supplier symposium on December 10, at 8:30 a.m., at the IFM Auditorium on the Louisiana Tech University campus.

The Louisiana Committee of 100, The Northwest Louisiana Government Procurement Center (PTAC), the University of Louisiana at Lafayette LA PTAC, and Louisiana Tech University are facilitating the symposium to stimulate new market opportunities for small businesses across Louisiana.

Its purpose is to match various small business interests with large corporations and defense contractors that offer contract opportunities. Small businesses and buyers will have the opportunity for private, one-on-one appointments, and are expected to generate new public and private contract leads for your business.

U.S. Congressman Rodney Alexander and GE Aviation Executive Melissa Twiningdavis will join together to greet the local small businesses and brief them on the significant benefits this outreach entails locally and for GE Aviation.

“GE Aviation is thrilled with opportunity to grow its supply base in Louisiana. We are interested in expanding our number of minority and women owned businesses that have the capabilities we need during this time of increased production,” said Melissa Twingingdavis.
