Lulu today announced the launch of the new Lulu Jr. book-publishing programs designed to inspire and encourage creativity in kindergarten through eighth grade students nationwide. The Lulu Jr. education programssupport writing and language arts curriculum through project based learning, communication and collaboration.

Building on the success of the education programs managed by Easy Student Publishing, Lulu Jr.'s programs give students the ability to plan, write, illustrate and publish a book. Teachers have free and unlimited access to Lulu Jr.'s online writing and publishing tools, and students can create either a Storybook or Classbook. The Storybook is written by one student; the Classbook is a collaborative story written by several students together. Each program is designed to support the elementary school curriculum, while being flexible enough to accommodate each teacher's own creativity and needs at the classroom level.

"Our education programs bring the power of publishing to classrooms at a time when children are developing their skills as storytellers, writers and authors," said Thomas E. Bright, Sr., chief executive officer and president at Lulu. "Advancing Lulu Jr.'s mission to inspire creativity, strengthen literacy skills and build self-esteem, the education programs make each participating student a published author."

There is no cost for teachers and students to participate in the Lulu Jr. education programs. Once the students have completed their book or books using the online writing and publishing tool, parents, students and teachers can go to www.lulujr.com to order the final work in an 8.5" x 11" professionally bound hardcover book.
