The new Lumens.com features a new look, better browsing and navigation, shopping tools and more content about brands and designers.

Lumens.com, the online retailer for contemporary lighting, fans, furniture and home accessories, announced the launch of their new website at Lumens.com. The new website features a cleaner, more robust shopping experience, technology improvements and a bevy of new tools.

“We designed the new site around our customers—people who love modern design,” said Ken Plumlee, who founded Lumens.com in 2004 and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. “It’s clean and visually driven, easy to shop, and invites you discover design through new categories, tools and content.”

To launch this new ecommerce platform, Lumens.com partnered with Demandware, the industry-leading provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions with clients such as Barneys New York, Brooks Brothers, Ethan Allen, Lands’ End, and The Limited.

New site features on Lumens.com include:

Site redesign: The new site showcases a brand new look that is heavily visual to showcase Lumens’ vast collection of lighting and modern furniture. Customers will also find better ways to shop among brands, categories and designers, as well as improved browsing with two product views—a simpler grid view and a detailed view that provides a snapshot of dimensions, colors/finishes, customer reviews and more.

Technology improvements: Customers can now check their order status and history online, plus store information like payment methods, billing/shipping addresses, wish lists and gift registries to their accounts.

More content: Design aficionados will find much to discover among more profiles, articles and videos featuring designer Q&As, new product introductions and behind-the-scenes looks at the people behind great modern lighting designs and furniture.

Project Manager tool: There are also several new tools and featured designed to help customers throughout the shopping experience, such as the Project Manager. The Project Manager lets customers create, store and share products into projects, which can easily be shared and purchased.

“Many of our customers come to Lumens.com to help with their home projects, like remodeling or redecorating,” Plumlee said. “The Project Manager tool can be a blueprint for picking out lighting and other pieces for their project, helping to keep plans and budgets on track.”

Design Trade Professionals who are members of the Lumens Trade Advantage Program can take advantage of new features like a customized website for the trade and My Dashboard to see a snapshot of their recent orders and projects. Trade Partners can also take advantage of additional Project Manager elements, like customized sharing for working with clients and colleagues.

Additional enhancements include more than 300 new landing pages, ability to view recently browsed items, and highlights of popular modern lighting and furniture collections and products among brands and designers.

“We’re thrilled to bring a better shopping experience to our customers,” Plumlee said. “We have a lot more in the works, and are looking forward to bringing more features and tools to their fingertips.”
