Schrems II judgement impacts Itello Live

Itello temporarily suspends deployments on non EU/EES based public cloud options following the Schrems II verdict.

Stockholm, October 28, 2020 – Itello, a leading provider of Policy and Administration Systems and digital solutions for the life and pension insurance industry, today announced that it temporarily halts further deployments using non EU/EES based public cloud services of its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform Itello Live.

Following an analysis of the regulatory situation Itello opts to temporarily exclude certain deployment options. Itello Live service delivery continues unchanged for the available deployment options.

“The present situation for cloud-based services following the Schrems II verdict is unfortunate, but the impact for cloud-agnostic SaaS, like Itello Live is limited. Legal and regulatory compliance has always been paramount for Itello and we closely monitor and adapt to regulatory change. We are convinced that as pension providers turn to cloud-based SaaS to get a more efficient delivery model and to enable digital transformation, we will have the most relevant solution regardless of deployment,” says Salifou Bah, head of SaaS business at Itello.
